Alabama Lass lays down a Spring marker with 108/117

The first bit of Black type was race 5 for the new season 3yo's  where red hot Fav Move To Strike missed the kick and never featured  in a leader dominated race. Mind you he was still +12 and will be better suited stripping fitter stepping up in trip. it was the  resuming Poetic Champion who  jumped to a new level with 94/106 +14.(Home 22 flat) The ability to control and dictate like that with those sort of numbers says this guy has a big Spring ahead of him. The runner up Savaglee was an eye catcher against the pattern 85/102 also home 22 flat.  This should be a strong form reference going forward

R7 was the Breeders for the G3 fillies and  the stand out was the $1.7 rated Alabama Lass who was coming off an Sr 97 in 4 length return win on a heavy track. She stripped fitter stepping onto the better surface and she has lit up the clock with 108/116 home 22.1, she had 3 lengths on 3rd and could be anything. Runner up  Captured By Love was excellent with 105 115 after getting the perfect trip and never shirked the task. She was 3 lengths behind Move to Strike when they met and this confirms how disappointing that runner was in the first. The 3rd placed  Damask Rose was doing best work late with XR 109. the 2nd and 3rd horses both home 22 flat. 3 very good fillies

R9 was  the G1 Tarzino and it was  surprise $32 winner in the $30.90 rated Grail Seeker, Jason did mention in his comments that the XR 100 horse from last time in had been trialling well. He went to a whole new level with 106/105. The good news apart from finding the winner as an overlay we dodged the $2.20 fav Croccetti rating him at $2.70 . He led on his ear and folded like the Blues in September. runner up Faraglioni resumed at a  new level 101/98. 3rd placed Sacred Satano XR 97 and 4th Skew Wiff XR 97 both rock solid.
