Flemington 11-11 Review
R1 BM90
WATADEEL just lapped up the return to a mile, his last mile run was back in March where he was a strong winner 89/106 (+18), so no surprise to see 102/107 here. Von Hauke also relished his first run at a mile 101/104 was a career best and he had 2.5 lengths on 3rd. He is worth following. Our Gold Miner Excelleration was 5th but his 23.1 was actually fastest last 400m in the race with 91/101 (+10) a rock solid return.

R2 Always Welcome Stakes Listed 1000m Open
We again find the trifecta in our top 4. General Beau finally got a 1200m win at 12 attempt at the trip and 89/92 shows us how. Top pick Parisal 87/91, with our 1 x 3 Gold Miner It'sourtime 86/92. They had panels on the others
R3 The Amanda Elliot Listed 3yo
Top pick Schwarz was only having 3rd race start and continued his progression out to 1400m 99/90 was sound enough but not all that strong late. Modown was also having 3rd race start and was well backed before running 2nd with 92/86 another step forward 3rd placed Alonso was 90/84 solid enough and had a gap on the rest.
R4 Queen Elizabeth G3 2600m Open
I was ridiculously harsh on winner the lightly raced Muramasa as he steep up 600m to an untried trip, he was coming off 111/118 yet I only gave 99. As i do the review I wonder what my thinking was. He came out and smashed the clock again rating an impressive 116/121. The best of the day. Hindsight is always 20/20 as I found out again later in the day with Pride Of Jenni. I was expecting Luncies to find best 4th run in out to a trip he relishes but he didnt fire a shot with a 83/99 Kiwi Ladies Man who rated SR 109 in a G1 at home 2 back returned to best with 106/113. Import Duke De Sessa backed up his XR 109 in the CFD Cup with 104/112. There is a race for him. Amade continues to run through the line 100/111 for him was very good.
HTF- The winner obviously but there is a race for Duke De Sessa
R5 The Matriarch Stakes G2 Mares
The money and performance of winner Deny Knowledge really surprised me, up 400m off -16 when -22 at the 2000 when beaten 7 lengths the run prior to that. but 106/100 saw her back to very best. Kiwi Pearl of Alsace drifted like she turned up with 3 legs bouncing big time off her career peak 3rd in G1 company the run prior. 88/87 was most disappointing. Runner up Osmose was peaking 3rd up but rising in W&D off a neg split run with 106/101 a big peak for her. The run of the race was 4yo Amokura who was 2nd up off a 4 length defeat resuming. She ended last campaign with success in black type company at 2200m ratig 100/104 so her 104/107 containing clearly the best splits in the race screams peaking next start. These 3 had 4 lengths on the rest.
HTF Amokura.
R6 Champions Sprint G1 1200m Open
Superstar Imperitriz added to her already glowing reputation with a great win, 99/99 was well down on what she is capable of with both straight track races running well down. Runner up Buenos Noches 97/101 had the 2nd best closing splits showing the potential of this progressive 4yo. In Secret 94/96 also well down on best when 3rd. Bella Nipotina settled last and had no chance given the race speed, she was home best in 22.5 with 91/101 (+10) She needs the speed on. Time not the issue here and the weight rating is what we will be taking from this.
R7 Champions Mile G1 1600m Open
With no meat on the bone I suggested all to stay out of the small field in this and I am still dirty I didnt give enough respect to that SR116 that Pride Of Jenni rated in the Empire Rose the same T&D the week prior. I though she would bounce and I only gave her 106 yet she came out controlled things and repeated the dose with 118/113. Especially disappointed in my assessment as she had an XR116 and an SR 114 last time in. and the fact that it seemed like the 3 key runners were all in this as an after thought after their grand finals. As I stated before hindsight is always 20/20. Mr Brightside was still top draw 113/112. Alligator Blood 108/105 and Fangirl getting too far back but best home rating 108/111. As St Thomas said the Yeshua, 'the punt !?, that will never catch on'
R8 Champion Stakes 2000m G1 Open
I gave Atishu 108 despite 112/115 behind Pride Of Jenni the week prior and this time i was spot on, she was a dominant winner with 107/106 winning by 2. Compare those ratings with 100/98 of runner up Duais, well down on his capabilities. 3rd placed Young Werther 99/96 was well in his wheelhouse. Let's not talk about the ride on West Wind Blows by Jamie Spencer, missed the kick and the took off circled the field and was gone turning, i would be dirty if an apprentice did that, just appalling. As they say don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.
R9 BM90 1100m
we finished the day with a lovely result with $2.3 rated top pick Rey Magenerio winnign easily at the Gold Miner quote of $6.50. Again the straight racing numbers were well done 89/86 was well below expectations so we need put this meet and that information in our punting brains. Again the weight rating will be te guide out of this. His nubers dominated this with the well backed runner up Mornington Glory rating 92/80.
