Can Hayasugi make some history
Only 5 Blue Diamond winners have won the Golden Slipper, the latest was the Peter Snowden trained Sepoy back in 2011 and the last filly and only the second filly was Courtza way back in 1989, the first filly was Midnight Fever back in 1987. That has been followed by Bounding Away in 1986, Manikato in 1978 and John's Hope in 1972.
Since Sepoy's win only 2 Blue Diamond winners have found the podium , Shamaready the next year and Earthquake in 2014
Can Hayasugi add to the list, coming off an SR100 with Jamie Kah who has won everything of late riding the $17 is value anyway you look at it
