Les Carlyon Day review

Moonee Valley

Another rock solid day where we hit 7 from 9 in our top 3.

Mornington Glory 102/106 says in for another cracking campaign.

We kicked off with best bet Dashing Duchess  winning by panels with plenty of even money about, we had her at 99 coming in way clear of rivals but 114/115 here was outstanding. MVY staying races seem to amplify for some reason, either way a stayer who you would love to own. It was a 10 point peak for all of the top 3 leaving her around the 104 mark in my mind. Its gets harder from here.

Race 2 featured our second Best Bet with Daggers off that XR 100 +10 debut, they dawdled here with the only thing to note in the 83/93 is the +10 Stolli Boli at 79/92 reads weak but that +12 tells us plenty.

They again dawdled in R3 where top pick with 70/64 was surely amiss. The winner Evaoprate with 87/78 suggests these are 2nd sttring.

I said Photograph was the 1 x 3 play here coming hardest of all late and thats how it paned out after he was heavily backed, 84/86 for 2nd down on the 91 we predicted but will be suited to a bigger track. Manalo Bling was another victim of up in W&D syndrome. the winner Immortl Star was 85/83 my thoughts on that form line dropped after Last Druids defeat. The win surprising but that XR 83 confirms my fears

1 x 3 play Lincoln Rocks ran 2nd with 92/109 losing no admirers and we will be with him again soon.R5 was out over the 2040 and with the winner 94 horse  Lauding annoyed me as I took 4 off and predicted 90 with that 11 aggregate Bm last 2 but was 2 for T&D with JK up, Hindsight is 2020 but  $12.90 and the $5.50 told the tale. 92/109 excellent and there is another one of these for him. Quantum cat a little unlucky buy  90/108 sees him in BB

I said Fast 4 was the safe play in the 6th where 2nd pick Trossetee  franked 102/105 3 back with 100/103 getting us $1.60 on our money. Runner up Regal Zeus 98/98 was rock solid and his ability to lead and kick always holds him in good stead, Nails Murphy XR96 and Ricks Cafe Xr 98 both noteworthy

I said stay out of R7 and that proved sage as all Quaddies went out the window when the outsider  in 7 Rolls won,  the fav finished last in a bizarre race.  Winner Green Fly coming off XR 111 was 2nd with 99/100. There is a race for him soon.

R8 was the Les Carlyon and don't forget to get his book. The winner was top pick and 100 horse Mornington Glory rated 103/107 frankd by an Sr 107 last time in. Peaks next time out. Sans Doute the eye catcher for 3rd  100/107 when home 22.8. Straight in the BB

We finish the day with another top pick in Extra Two he was 43/8 to $2.8 as cashed up Horsetorquers feasted again, an 95 horse going in franked by XR 95 here. Superazi 88/92

Again apart from Rolls and you always give 1 in 10 to chaos theory the numbers held up super and with the G1 Memsie looming. Showers frcast through the weak but Sunny Saturday and we should just in the Soft zone, a good old fashioned Dead track.
