Eagle Farm Review

Antino now has the Stradbroke well in his sights

The Brisbane Winter carnival kicked off with Guineas day and we started the day with a tasty Gold Miner in the $4.30 rated Wapiti winning the BM90 at $8.50, he was a 91 horse going in and we got 93/91 so right on the money

R2 was a BM78 and the $3.60 rated Northern Decree won for us at $4.60 and we found the Trifecta in our top 4. The winner was a 91 horse going in was a strong 90/101 +11 and looks like he can go right on with it.

R3 We had Typhoon Taavi clearly on top here in the FM78 and she was smashed in the betting to start at a prohibitive $1.65. they walked and she won easily with 82/88 well down on her expected 94. Thats 3 on the bounce and she is going places. She is the onlu one to take from this.

R4 was a BM85 and I marked the resuming winner Zoes Promise down as she had never found the Quinella in4 fresh runs but the $3.90 told is she was ready and had by all likeliness come on and 103/105 ina 4 length romp was excellent and she looks in for a fabulous campaign. 3rd placed home Evocator was home in an equal best 23 flat for an Xr 96 which was +14 4th placed Outlawed matched his closing splits 81/95 was also +14. they can both be placed to advantage.

R5 was a 3yo Open Handicap and the $9.30 rated Golden Decade won at $9.50. he was a 91 horse coming in and I wasnt quite expecting that first up but we got 91/99 suggesting he has also come back in fine fettle. 93 horse and 2nd pick Inhibitions ran 2nd with 88/94 right in her wheelhouse. Top pick Weigal Tiger was best home completing the trifecta in our top 3 87/97 was +10 telling he has also returned at the peak of his powers

R6 Was the first bit of Black type with the Listed Dalrallo for the 2yo's and top pick was Mishani Lily rated at $2.50 off that big 100/102 at her previous. 95/92 wasnt up to that but had half a length on runner and 2 lengths on 3rd. Another Quinella in our top 4 with the $5.50 rated Embassy running 2nd at $6 with 93/93 seeing him best home. they are the 2 from this.

R7 Was a BM78 and equal 4th pick Immoral rated at $9.8 won at $11 An 89 horse going in and we got 89/90 which was right on the money. Runner up Warby was  89/88 and the only other  runner to take from this. Top pick was the HK galloper Oughton who ran last, surely amiss but HK dot get rid of good ones.

R8  was the G2 Victory Stakes and our $3.50 rated ytop pick Antino showed hs class powering home along the rails to win easily., A 105 horse coming in and 103/104 was esceptional and a step up in trip can only suit. You would thin The Stradbroke is the target. We found another Quinella in our top 4 with Wee Nessy a value placing 99/96 was a little down on my expected 102. Prince Of Boom 80/72 is gone as I had feared. We also dodged the Fav Uncommon James who went like a busted crab and obviously has an issue.

R9 was the G2 Guineas for the 3yo's and $7.80 rated 2nd pick Kintyre rounded off a great day for us winning at $9  A 97 horse going in and 93/99 was right in his wheelhouse. Razors made another top 4 Quinella when a value runner up at $14 Also a 97 horse going in and 91/98 was rock solid There were plenty of solid run behind them, best home was Easy Dun also with Xr 98 3rd placed Press Link was Xr 96 same as Chico Mojoito
