Dual G1 winner Broadsiding back with bang and an XR 109.
R3 was the G3 Colin Stephen at 2400m and its the first race we need to take note of, and we found the Trifecta in the top3. Winner a triple confirmed XR 98 horse First Light who rated 101/94, h+he was a dominant 3 length winner over Changingoftheguard 89/75. Our Lay here Campaldino ran nowhere with 75/67
R4 Was a BM88 where we found the Quinella in our top 4 and 96 horse and $9 rated Firestorm was in off 99/100 and repeated the dose with 101/101 whilst Runner up Unusual Legacy was coming in off XR 107 and produced a very tidy 100/100 Only 2 others to note here Raf Attack XR 95 and Im A Dirty Rascal XR 97
R5 was the Listed Heritage and Gatesby was our shortest of the day and I see many on Twitter ready to write off this lightly raced $Million dollar Colt but he was home in a days best 21.1 for 93/108 +15. It was only start 5 for Perspiration who had a previous best of 88/92. 94/102 was a nice step up 2nd run back.
R6 I wasnt keen on getting involved here but nice to see the ratings hold up with top pick Willaidow, a confirmed Sr 100 horse going in and we got a very tidy 103/102 Iron Man was honest as ever with 100/97. Superazi whom I noted as the money mover in the morning was $26 to $13 before 91/97. Rhapsody Chic XR 95 and Tavi Time XR 97 both get ticks.
R7 was the G2 Gold Pendant and top pick Amelias Jewel ran 2nd with 93/102 well down on the 109 we were looking for. She is very good but perhaps not quite the top liner I thought she was becoming last year. We dodged unplaced Semana who rated 80/91 but I couldnt understand the enthusiasm for the winner Makarena confirmed Xr 97 at best but the money kept coming and 98/104 was a new career peak. Arctic Glamour Xr 100 and Lekvarte XR 96 both get pass marks.
R8 was the G1 Golden Rose and it was the Exacta in order for us as dual G1 winner Broadsiding resumed with a tasty new peak of 104/109. Traffic Warden 103/106 was also an eye catcher 2 very good Goldolphin 3yo's. 3rd placed was Mayfair who just keeps taking next step 102/103 tells me there are good races ahead for this guy as well. 99 horse Storm Boy gave us 101/98. Nothing else of note.
R9 The $6.5o rated 100 horse Amor Victorious gave us 97/95 winning at $8.50 97 horse Punch Lane was 2nd with 95/97 Osipe3knko was specked and good late with XR 96, New Endeavour XR 93 Celestial legend with 87/96 was just a pass and that will no doubt rid him of Golden Eagle favouritism
R10 say Peace Treaty whom I had as a Gold Miner at MVY Friday night win was also one here at Horsetorquers feasted with the $6.50 rated runner $17 into $10 before winning with 98/100 in a nice step forward. Our top pick Pharari had trouble getting clear running and was seen doing best work late, home 22 flat for 94/99. Runner Cavalo Rampante Xr 99 and Tanglewood XR 97 both get honourable mentions
